Dr. Heikki Huikuri is the Director of Cardiology and Professor of Medicine University of Oulu Finland and holds the Senior Scientist Award from the Finnish Foundation for Cardiovascular Research and is a Fellow with the American College of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology. His research interests include genetics of arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death including finding early markers of those at risk. more

Dr. Per-Henrik Groop from the Folkhalsan Research Centre is the head of the FinnDiane study, which is focused on the TIDM and aims for the identification and early detection of diabetic complications. So far, the research group has accumulated clinical information of about 4000 type 1 diabetic patients and 1500 relatives in Finaland. At the moment, a
genome wide scan of some 120 selected families is in profess, it contains a unique dataset and addords an excellent opportunity to learn more about the disease and its complications. more

Juha Peltonen is Exercise Physiologist with the Finnish Foundation of Sports Medicine, and Head Coach for the Finnish Rowing Team, University of Helsinki, whose research interests include cardiorespiratory responses to exercise including cardiac and muscle oxygenation as well as training determinants using new information technology.

Dr. Mikko Tulppo is the Adjunct Professor Department of Internal Medicine/Cardiology and Manager of the Department of Exercise and Medical Physiology, University of Oulu, Finland. Dr Tulppo's research interests include the autonomic nervous system interaction with cardiovascular diesease, genetics and exercise perturbations in cardiac rehabilitation. more
